First Impressions and OOC Permissions
In Brief
Adela Pérez is a born and raised soldier from a Mexican Used Future Space Opera full of machines, hostile aliens, and a lot of tacos.
She’s an army woman hailing from a space opera starring the descendants of mexican colonizers, and many more hispanic cultures, though with a presence of other nationalities. She’s short, thirty-five years old, speaks a lot of Spanglish, and you can see her wearing a cowboy hat, drinking tequila or beer, reading a not-safe-for-work cowboy book for entertainment.
Visual - Adela has a bronze skin on a darker end, and brown hair turning into black. Her body language and facial expressions are incredibly easy to read most of the times. She also tends to wield a monster of an HMG when in a combat mission.
Fashion - She wears a camouflage uniform with a rectangular pattern, with a black shirt underneath, none of it buttoned since it is hot inside of spaceships. Just as well, she nearly always wears a cowboy hat, and has her dog tags and crucifix hanging on her neck.
Demeanor - She’s not one to hold back emotions. She will let you know in many words she’s angry at you, she will hug you strongly if she likes you a lot, she will cry if things are going to hell. But overall, it’s a hotheadedness and determination… and of course, a lot of friendliness.
Aural - Loud. She likes to speak to others and knowing of others, laughs LOUDLY when she find something funny, screams in Spanish when she’s angry. Otherwise, her voice sounds almost musical in tone, and her footsteps are surprisingly soft when heard… though her machinegun is louder when she wields it.
Olifactory - Adela smells of a mixture of charcoal, meat, beer, sweat, and incense. She does not stink, but it’s easy to tell if she’s been eating, drinking, praying, or working, especially with the uniforms she wears.

Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Sure! Her mind is a chaotic mess of Spanish, leering at people, scent of food, attachment to people, and interestingly enough, 90% of the times you don’t even need a psychic to know what she’s thinking… and in combat, she’s a computer suddenly finding potential solutions everywhere.
Setting Warnings: Genocide, government oppression, war, blood and gore, political instability, corporate overreach. Those are the most prominent warnings I'd give out regarding Adela's lore, though I'll warn whenever necessary should they come into those themes.
Interaction Warnings: I need IC Permissions from you! Given Adela is the descendant of mexican colonizers in space, Adela is used to a lot of physical contact, be it in the form of greeting acquantances or while being with close friends and family. The closer you get to her, the more physical is she in those forms of affection.
They’ll reflect in the traditional at first (shake of hands and kiss on the cheek, big hugs for close friends), and can turn into the teasing (slapping a close friend’s butt!). Obviously, she will only do this if Adela is close to someone else AND if I have your permission. I can easily chalk it up to Adela being a stranger among others, so she may be more physically reserved.
Due to this, I’d like permissions on a few things:
Shaking hands and kissing on the cheek: Adela is used to greeting men in this manner, though the kiss is more of a peck. Funnily enough, she’ll get offended if she is greeted only with a handshake, which still proves RP opportunities. If you would rather not have your character greeted this way, give me a heads-up!
Physical Contact: If you don’t mind having your character be on the receiving end of said affection, give me a heads-up! Likewise, Adela won’t mind receiving it, and may in fact remind her of home.
